The results are in, and for many of us, last night brought both gratitude and grief.
Here in Florida, we’ll welcome a governor who speaks openly about his faith in Jesus. We also said goodbye to many legislators who have stood faithfully for life, marriage, family, and religious liberty in Tallahassee. Some of them have walked alongside this ministry for years, and the Capitol will feel their absence this session.
Many races last night came down to razor-thin margins. In a margin that small, everything you did mattered: every guide you handed to a friend, every conversation at church, every vote you cast. That’s the Church doing exactly what God calls her to do in the public square, and last night showed just how much it matters for the Church to engage.
Never let anyone tell you your voice doesn’t count.
This is why we do what we do. For months, our team researched the issues, sent hundreds of candidate questionnaires, and conducted interviews to produce Florida’s only biblical worldview voter guide. We worked alongside churches across the state to help their people register, get informed, and get to the polls. Our emails alone drew more than 2 million views.
I also understand that many of you woke up this morning anxious about the results in Washington. So let me tell you how I think a Christian should process a morning like this. Our King held the throne yesterday, He holds it today, and nothing happened last night outside His control.
So, here’s what I’d ask of you this week.
- Pray for Florida. Pray for Governor-elect Donalds, his family, and every leader taking office in Tallahassee, and ask God to give them wisdom, courage, and protection. Pray, too, for the legislators leaving office. Thank God for their service, and ask Him to bless them and their families in the season ahead.
- Pray for our nation. Scripture doesn’t make our prayers conditional on who wins. Paul urged believers to pray “for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty” (1 Timothy 2:2).
- Be encouraged. Florida’s next governor loves Jesus and isn’t shy about it! In October, Byron Donalds sat down with Florida Family Action, FFV’s legislative arm, and shared his Christian testimony. It encouraged our whole team.

- Keep speaking truth. Elections end, but the work doesn’t. Speak truth in your church, at your dinner table, and with your neighbors.
- Stay engaged. Get to know who represents you in Tallahassee and Washington, show up when your voice matters, and bring your church along with you. Here’s what Florida Family Voice will do next. This week I’ll be in Washington, D.C., with a small group of social conservatives and faith leaders from across the nation for a meeting planned months ago to respond to both the federal and state results. I’ll report to you from there. Then we go right back to work:
- Equipping churches: We’ll bring pastors to Tallahassee to connect with the shepherds of government, and we’ll keep equipping congregations across all 67 counties through the Church Ambassador Network.
- Educating leaders: Our team will be in the Capitol every day of the 2027 legislative session, standing for life, marriage, family, and religious liberty, and we’ll build relationships with every new legislator from day one.
- Engaging the next generation: We’ll keep investing in young people through our youth and student scholarships and will be launching Florida’s Christian Education Network in 2027.
- Empowering voters: We’ll keep putting biblical worldview resources in your hands, because every election, including the next one, starts now.
Leaders change, but our mission to advance and contend for truth in the public square does not. We are your voice for biblical values, and we will stand firm for life, marriage, family, and religious liberty all-year long, no matter who holds office.
For Florida’s families,
Erik Dellenback
President & CEO

P.S. Friends like you make this work possible. Please stand with us as we head into 2027.
