Florida’s Good and God’s Glory
Our MissionFlorida’s Good and God’s Glory
Our mission is for governing authorities to see who they are called to be in Christ and to turn to the Church as a primary resource for community needs.
Government is one of three institutions God created to order and bless human civilization. Just like the other two – church and family – government becomes a blessing for our good and His glory when it fulfills its God-given design.
Each of God’s institutions carries a distinct role, and each was designed to complement – not ignore – one another. The church, specifically, is equipped to provide solutions to personal and community problems the government cannot adequately solve alone, which is why the government needs a working partnership with the church.
That partnership begins with bringing shepherds of the church into relationship with the shepherds of government.
What We Do
Our WorkWhat We Do
The Church Ambassador Network connects pastors to government for Gospel transformation in four ways:
Year-Round Connection
Bringing together church and government leaders from the same region, where both kinds of shepherds share care for their particular communities.
Capitol Trips
Welcoming pastors to the Capitol to build personal relationships with government officials and minister God’s word to their specific shepherding role.
Education
Providing teaching and resources that help both elected officials and pastors speak confidently about what God’s word says on the issues government decides.
Empowerment
Developing partnerships between church and government to solve key issues facing our communities like education, addiction, and foster care, while lifting up the name of Christ.
“For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.”
Romans 13:1
What if the Church Engaged Government Differently?
Our StrategyWhat if the Church Engaged Government Differently?
Shepherd-to-shepherd relationships must begin on common ground, where the shepherds can relate to one another in three ways:
As People
Both are ordinary individuals, made in God’s image, placed in an extraordinary position.
As Shepherds
Both lead an institution of God’s and must therefore look to the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ, for success and reward.
As Partners
Both are uniquely equipped to meet community needs in different ways, but in similar areas of interest (e.g., poverty, mental health, foster care, etc.).
