Strengthening the Black Family Forum
March 17 @ 9:00 AM - 12:00 PMFree
Please join us Saturday, March 17 in Pompano Beach for the Strengthening the Black Family forum!
This free event will celebrate the importance of family in the black community while highlighting the challenges facing many children today due to single parent households, divorce and poverty. The event will be held in two parts, a continental breakfast and reception for pastors from 9-10 am (doors open at 8:30 am), and a community town hall meeting and discussion from 10 am-12 pm (with lunch to follow the community town hall meeting).
During the event, participants will hear from and receive leadership training from respected political and policy experts, including FFPC’s President John Stemberger, Rev. Dean Nelson, President and CEO of the Douglass Leadership Institute, and Catherine Davis, Founder and President of the Restoration Project.
||Rev. Dean Nelson
The goal of this Saturday morning event is to discuss how black churches and families can be strengthened, as black American families are disproportionately disadvantaged in many ways.
Florida Family Policy Council is very pleased to have the opportunity to partner with the Douglass Leadership Institute for this event.
The event is free of charge, but prior registration is requested. To register now for this special event, click here or call Kevrick McKain at 919-935-9220.
